Too Late[Animal Cruelty]

The sadness in the eyes is obvious.
Though they look at Them in oblivion.
They say, "who cares.."
The half that do care, and the half that do not debate, every day.
"He deserves more than this." A half says.
"Who cares?! Let the god darn thing rot!" The other says.
One threw a punch, huffing and puffing loudly and roaring at each negative word the cruel half said.
"You're the one who wanted him!!" The other said, bickering as they threw more punches and fights.
The half that wanted the best for Him let him out, let him soar freely and run happily in circles, they let him jump and fly as high as they can, spread their wings and let Him smile.
But in such a limited space, sadly.

The other half smacked Him, and pushed him in his cage, in anger as they slapped the good Half. "He would have taken a friggin' piss on the floor!"
"Your point being?"
"I won't tolerate him! Take him back to the adoption center!"
"I'd rather take you to the adoption center, for I don't want to see your ugly face no more!"
They bickered, they shivered from the disgusting words, they fought, but no answer was certain.

The eyes in Him narrowed away from the argumentative Owners, as he glanced at the window near his cage.  The view wasn't even that phenomenal. He laid down, his ears twitched silently as he sniffed the bloody scent of the debate. He heard birds chirping wildly, he heard dogs barking in excitement or in terror, he growled lowly watching out for his beloved Owners.. his argumentative Owners.

He howled through the darkest nights in loneliness, when there was a full moon. He winced in emotional pain as he dreamed of being disowned, of being left out in the shadows, waking up with salty tears only to see his disgusting Owners. Though he still listened in pain, yet he still desired to visit the beach on the softest sand, in the purest ocean water, watching the sun set in his hazel eyes as the view were to be in black and white. Only a simple wish to see, a beautiful sight it may be.
A simple wish to take a walk around town, a simple wish to meet new ones.
but these wishes cannot be fulfilled, sadly.

He were to be a good boy, he was a shy one. Hiding beneath a chair when he saw his future Owners, quivered in anxiety and he came to his new home. He sniffed every place, every scent, every spec. He wavered his tail in excitement and fascination, jumping around as his floppy ears jumped with him, smiling brightly to be owned by a loving family.
Or was it a loving family?

Then now he sits still, behind isolated gray bars as if it was a prison. Day and night, sitting home deserted without anyone to accompany him and make sure he is alright.
"Hi baby.." the other good Half said, he perked his ears up and he watched them pass by, watching him with a smile as they grab a water bottle from the cool fridge, they generously poured a bit of water into his bowl and he gratefully drank some.

He ate, he drank, he lived but not to its fullest. He was not happy, he was lonely. In the deepest of his thoughts, as if he were to think, he would rather be on the streets than living the household.

It was too late for him to be free, he ages everyday in depression as he sits behind the bars. It was too late for him to be accustomed to not being behind bars, it was too late for anything to be undone. It was too late to return him, it was never too late to let him be out. But the other did not want it. The family couldn't handle a pet, yet here He is laying in sadness.

He will die in sadness, with no happy or proud moment in his life other than coming to a warm home that one night.

He winced in pain as he dreamed of a nightmare during a stormy night, and the other good Half comforted him behind the bars as he exhaled out through his nose and laid on his side.

[Heya, I deeply apologize for the long story, this is kind of a sensitive topic for me. I just wanted to share this out. This is indeed a type of animal cruelty, even though it doesn't include any violence.. it is emotionally one of the worst type of cruelty out there. If you want to dedicate yourself to a pet, do it. If you don't think you can't handle it, then don't. It's a major responsibility, and pets still have a heart and they still live. if you want to dedicate yourself to them, make sure they see the beauty of Life just as we do.]
